FACTS OF INTEREST:
- Ravens belong to the Crow family (Corvidae), along with jays, magpies and crows. They are found throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
- Ravens can grow to 25 inches long. They are the largest songbird, and can produce 30 different sounds.
- Ravens are the most intelligent species of bird, testing on par with some of our closest primate relatives. They can make simple tools and use them to retrieve food. They also appear to be compulsive collectors of objects that interest them.
- Ravens are omnivores. They hunt small mammals and will scavenge anything edible, including groceries left in a pickup truck!
